A Los Angeles Life Update

I’ve moved to Los Angeles! Life has been pretty crazy lately, but after a long season of not knowing where we’ll be next, then moving to Washington, D.C. and living there for a month, my husband and I have finally found our (hopefully more permanent!) home here. The transition has been difficult in many ways because we had to leave our friends and family on the east coast, but we’re thankful for exciting opportunities to make new friends and get plugged into our community here in West Los Angeles. I enjoyed the times we had in D.C. - exploring new architecture, going on long city walks, visiting the National Gallery of Art, attending baseball and basketball games, and eating some amazing food are just a few highlights. I can’t wait to explore the art scene of Los Angeles, establish relationships with other artists in my community, and plant my business roots here while maintaining the connections I have with other artists from around the globe.

I’ve only been here a couple weeks, but I’ve already decided that I love it here. I’ve been able to experience the beauty of the beaches here, watch incredible sunsets, eat delicious burgers (where are my In N Out lovers?!), explore beach town shops, and enjoy the warm late fall weather. My most recent development is that I found my own studio space! I’ve always wanted an artistic workspace of my own where I could make a mess and it might never be cleaned up, where hours could pass by and I wouldn’t know because I had become lost in my work. I realized now would be a perfect time to make that a reality.

My new studio is part of an arts complex with a community of over 100 brilliant artists including sculptors, metal workers, ceramicists, painters, photographers, musicians, and artists in fields I had never heard of but can’t wait to learn more about. My studio walls are blank for now, but I’m excited to fill them with new pieces as I become inspired by the city and its thriving artists. I’m looking forward to settling into my own working space and beginning this new journey in L.A.’s artist network. I’m feeling blessed to be a piece of this community already. Catch me at my new office and follow along for more of my west coast adventures! I can’t wait to share them with you.
